Basundi is a creamy, sweet, thickened milk dessert. It is a popular Gujarati Sweet served along with the main meal especially with poori, shaak, kadhi, bhaat, etc. Easy to make. Best to use full fat milk. Make a day ahead, and keep in the fridge. Serve it chilled or heat it up again to serve hot. FOR TRADITIONAL BASUNDI OMIT THE FRUIT. INGREDIENTS REQUIRED FOR BASUNDI SERVES 4 1 litre full fat milk (use 10% if available). 2 tbsp sugar 2 tbsp condensed milk ¼ tsp saffron ½ tsp cardamom powder ¼ tsp nutmeg powder 2 tbsp almond flakes 1 tbsp pistachio flakes some edible rose petals.
Dhaniya Panjiri is a popular easy gluten free sweet preparation that is offered to Lord Krishna on Janmashtami, His birthday. It is so easy to make it. The main ingredient is coriander seeds. Nuts, dry fruits, cardamom etc are added along with powdered sugar. After Janmashtami Pooja, panjiri is offered to everyone as prasadam. Ingredients Required For Dhaniya Panjiri Makes 1 cup ½ cup coriander seeds ¼ cup desiccated coconut 8-10 almonds or any nuts of your choice 1 tsp mixed seeds like melon, sunflower, pumpkin. 6-8 makhana (fox nuts) 1½ tsp ghee - clarified butter 1 tsp raisins ¼ tsp cardamom powder ¼ tsp ginger powder ¼ cup powdered sugar
