EVENT: DESI BLOGGERS CONNECT THEME: DIWALI DHAMAKA The Group Desi Bloggers Connect: My contribution for this theme is Coconut Laddoos/ Coconut Fudge Balls. Bloggers Connect is a Facebook Group where members support each other by sharing and commenting on each others post. I’ve met many food bloggers though this group. For this Diwali Festival, the admins decided that we should prepare a sweet and savory or either dish to share for the theme. My Story: When I volunteered to take part in this event, I had jotted down a few options. One was a recipe that my mother in law use to make often during Diwali. However, its a bit time consuming and it will have to wait for another time. After I got back from…

EVENT: A- Z CHALLENGE THEME : A DISH BEGINNING WITH THE LETTER C What is the A- Z Challenge? Well, we’re a Facebook group and every alternate month the participants make a dish with the relevant letter. The group was started in May 2018 by Jolly Makkar and Vidya Narayan. For September we have to post a recipe with the letter C. The star ingredient for the dish should begin with C. I must admit that when I was in Montreal, hubby and I enjoyed all the berries that were in full season. We also had loads of succulent, ruby red, sweet cherries. So cherries is what I used for this theme. I usually cannot plan well ahead for any of the group events that I’m…

EVENT: BLOGGING MARATHON #89 THEME: MAKE ONE TYPE OF INDIAN SWEET Next week I’m traveling to Canada to visit my son. Excited? Yes. Have I started packing? No. I know last minute I’m going to be running around like a headless chicken. I need to put away the spices, grains, flours, lentils everything in the fridge. I hate this part. The weather here is so humid that food gets spoilt within a month in not stored in the fridge. I need to still make a few goodies to take for him. I need to pack. I was joking with hubby dear that he might as well convert one of the bedrooms into a cold storage. Oh well, let me just relax for a bit and…

EVENTS: BLOGGING MARATHON #89 WEEK 2 DAY 2 FOODIEMONDAY/BLOGHOP THEMES: MAKE ONE TYPE OF INDIAN SWEET / EID SPECIAL Lets talk about the the Blogging Marathon theme first. I chose make one type of Indian Sweet because I wanted to make different types of kheer and also showcase that its possible to make both sugarless and with sugar without any hassles. I’d come across so many carrot kheer recipes and always wondered what it would taste like. So voila there I made it and it tastes awesome. Its actually a great dessert, easy to make and the charming thing about this recipe is that besides being so colorfully tempting, one can control the amount of sugar that goes into it. Since carrots are slightly sweet,…
