    April 17, 2018mayurisjikoni

Recipe: Nasi Goreng Nasi Goreng is a popular Indonesian dish that is enjoyed as breakfast, lunch or dinner. Pretty easy to make, vegetables and sometimes meat are added to fried rice. Commonly, fried egg is placed on top of the nasi goreng. The ubiquitous kecap manis adds a sweet and savoury flavour and the umami comes from the shrimp paste called terasi. Sharing This Recipe With Mega Blogging Marathon Group With this group a group of food bloggers are out to “Explore The Flavours – International Dishes. The challenge is to prepare the international dishes alphabetically. I chose to prepare International Breakfast Dishes and Nasi Goreng is one of them. Memories When I decided to participate in this Mega Blogging Marathon, I knew immediately what…

  • Pineapple Coconut Virgin Mojito Float

    March 26, 2018mayurisjikoni

Pineapple Coconut Virgin Mojito Float The original plan was to make a virgin pineapple mojito. By the way, did you know that the new term for a non alcoholic mojito (moheetoh) is nojito (noheetoh). Its been so hot and humid the past few days that hubby insisted that whatever I make it has to be super cold. So the idea of the float came to my mind. Pineapple Coconut Virgin Mojito Float is a cooling, thirst quenching, nectarous mocktail with fresh tender coconut, coconut water, mint and topped with pineapple coconut sorbet. Must admit though a dash of coconut rum would have taken the mocktail to a new spirit level 😉 Mojitos usually consist of lime, mint, sparkling water, soda or limeade, with some rum.…

EVENT: FOODIEMONDAY/BLOGHOP THEME: 119TH – UDUPI CUISINE RECIPE: UNDI/ RICE DUMPLINGS Undi/ Rice Dumplings is a famous Udupi breakfast dish. In fact it is also known as Pundi Gatti or Oondi. Basically, rice dumplings are steamed and served with a chutney or sambhar. Sometimes coconut oil drizzled over it is enough. It is a simple, healthy, gluten free, vegan breakfast to enjoy. Rice rava or coarsely ground rice flour is available in the market to make this dish but I decided to make it with soaked rice as I read that the dumplings or undi turns out much softer. However, feel free to use readily available rice rava to cut down preparation time. Memories A visit to Phoenix Mall, Bangalore is like a dazzling visit…
