    September 28, 2018mayurisjikoni

Recipe: Xtra Flaky Farsi Puri Xtra Flaky Farsi Puri is a more flakier version of the traditional farsi puri recipe. Layers are created to give it that flaky texture and it tastes so good. These Puris are normally enjoyed with some spicy masala tea. I remember my mum would often make this kind of farsi puri,  as my dad loved it. We would be given flaky puri in our break box.   Memories We are nearly coming to the end of the Mega BM, today is Day 24 and brings with it the most difficult letter X. EVENT: FOODIEMONDAY/BLOGHOP THEME: #159 GRILLED RECIPES Today has been one of those crazy days when I felt that work is just not getting less! I usually have a list of things or chores mentally prepared so that I can tackle it methodically. However, it needs just one element to throw it off course… my maid! Yes, can’t do without her and at the same time just don’t want her around sometimes. I waited till 9.30 a.m. and she didn’t show up so then speed  had to be picked up as I’ve got laundry to do, to cook, wash utensils, sweep and mop. What do I hate the most? Wiping the utensils after they’ve been washed! Why is it that in places like UK, US, Australia,…

EVENT: FOODIEMONDAY/BLOGHOP THEME: #152 ASIAN CUISINE When Amrita who blogs at The Food Samaritan suggested Asian cuisine, we immediately knew that she wanted to challenge us to some south East Asian cooking and not the Sub Continent cuisine we all are so comfortable with. I jumped for joy as I immediately knew what I wanted to make. I had been eyeing the rice paper ever since I had seen it at the supermarket in Montreal. Its ingredients like these that excite me the most as I don’t get them back home in Mombasa. So when did I see them? Last year! When did I get a chance to use them? For the #152nd FoodieMonday theme, all thanks to Amrita. Yesterday hubby, my son, his girlfriend…

As a snack we enjoy freshly baked rolls, buns, or snacks made out of bread. Bread is a versatile food. There have been several controversies out there indicating that bread is bad for health. I guess its only bad if you’re overeating. A couple of slices is fine. Today’s theme chosen by Kriti who blogs at Krispy Kadhai, is bread. Sometimes I like how members think. So Priya asked as to whether we have to bake a bread or make anything using bread? So that opened up a…
