mayurisjikoni
Home brewed Lavender & Fennel Herbal Tea is a soothing, calming and comforting hot beverage to enjoy just before bedtime.
Prep Time 10 minutes mins
Total Time 10 minutes mins
- 2½ cup hot water
- 1 tsp culinary lavender buds
- few dried rose petals optional
- 12-14 mint leaves fresh
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- 2 tsp natural honey
Heat the water in a kettle or in a pan till it begins to boil.
Add lavender buds, rose petals, fennel seeds and mint leaves in a jug or teapot.
Add the hot water.
Cover the jug or teapot.
Allow the mixture to infuse for 3-5 minutes.
Strain the infused liquid into 2 cups. If the herbal tea has become cold, warm it up again.
Add 1 tsp of honey in each cup. Mix well and enjoy.
The leftover solids make good compost for your plants.
- If you don't have rose petals, omit it but I highly recommend them as the herbal tea tastes very floral and delicious.
- Don't add more than 1 tsp of lavender buds. The tea will taste bitter and soapy.
- Best enjoyed hot but can have it as cold herbal tea during the summer. However, the effect on inducing sleep will not be the same.
