EVENT: FOODIEMONDAY/BLOGHOP THEME: #197 GET IN SHAPE The #197th theme for FoodieMonday/Bloghop group, Get in Shape is nothing to do about us getting into shape with some healthy diet or workout. However, as Kalyani suggested, its all about presenting food in a geometrical fashion. Kalyani blogs at Sizzling Buds. Her blog is full of vegetarian recipes and many are vegan. Her endeavor to present world cuisine in a more healthier manner for her family is commendable. When the theme was suggested, I got excited. I would have loved to bake a bread or tart to really give due credit to this theme (you know the type where slices are arranged in concentric circle or even or semi circles on a square pie), but limited resources meant…

EVENT:FOODIEMONDAY/BLOGHOPTHEME:#174 POTLUCKRECIPES What are Potluck Recipes? Potluck is where there is a communal gathering where guests bring a dish to share with others. So when Karen who blogs at Karen’s Kitchen Stories suggested Middle Eastern Breads, I knew I’d take part. However time was running out for me as I had to travel in September and I also had committed to doing 26 Indian Flatbreads. So it was like my kitchen was full of breads..though flat, but it was screaming ‘make something different like rice’ and I had to reassure it that soon all this flour work would be over. I had a few days left before the travel date approached and was in a dilemma, should I participate, shouldn’t I! The pull…

MEGA BLOGGING MARATHON -SEPT 2017   #80TH BLOGGING MARATHON   THEME: PROTEIN RICH DISHES/LENTILS DAY:17     If you browse through the internet, you will be inundated with recipes with cauliflower as the main ingredient especially if one is trying to follow a vegan or paleo diet. Cauliflower rice, cauliflower pizza base, cauliflower tortillas etc etc etc. Besides cauliflower rice, I’ve yet to try my hands on the other recipes. As a kid I didn’t like cauliflower too much. I think I hated it as the overcooked version smelt awful. I don’t like to overcook it for sabjis, curries or for any dish where I’m using cauliflower. Even when I prepare soup,I just cook it enough so it remains a bit crunchy. Did you know that…
