    EVENT: FOODIEMONDAY/BLOGHOP THEME: #213 RASAM RAAGA I had initially informed my Foodiemonday group friends that I would not be participating for this theme. However, rains and more rains forced me to go into my sister in law’s kitchen as I felt like having something hot to sip on. Hubby suggested soup.     Amazing dal         Visits to India means eating out. While I still have to acquire a taste for most of the fusion food, like chinese dosa, served with sweet and sour sauce and all that, I do love eating the more traditional food and street food. My daughter’s friend suggested we go to Nagarjuna, an Andhra restaurant in Bangalore. Kobe, a sizzler place directly opposite sounded a better option. However, I am so glad we went to Nagarjuna. The food was so delicious and its the first time I had a meal on a banana leaf. I’ve had food on the dried leaf plates and bowls but not on a fresh green banana leaf.     five vegetables a day     Ten servings of fruits and vegetables a day is what is recommended as a part of an ideal meal plan. That gets one thinking that if I am suppose to eat all those veggies and fruits then when do I eat the rest? The rest I mean the yummy stuff like breads, rice, cakes, muffins etc. Its pretty simple, have a salad everyday and it will take care of your 5-6 servings of vegetables and fruits. Today this salad recipe does take care of at least five. My blog will feature a lot of salad recipes because that’s a part of our meal everyday.
