I’ve been baking cakes but the normal eggless one that I bake as people have asked for it.     Delish and Evil Theme: No bake Desserts BM#78 Week 3 Day 3 When I saw so many dark ruby red cherries at the market and in the supermarket, I was tempted to bake a black forest cake. Basically a Black Forest cake, is layers of chocolate cake, kirsch soaked cherries, grated chocolate and whipped cream. Kirsch(kirsch wasser) is a spirit made from tart cherries. I would have loved to bake this cake or gateau as its called. However, my family would have probably thrown me out with all the dessert I’m making for the past few days.     Going all the way to Mexico Well not really, am at the moment sitting in London writing about a Mexican bread. Cemita originates from city and region of Puebla in Mexico. It refers to the bread as well as the sandwich itself. The bread bun or roll is made with flour, fat and egg and has sesame seeds on top. It has a brioche like texture, crispy on the outside and soft and spongy inside and slightly sweet. Found as street food in many cities and towns of  Mexico, as well as the streets of  New York and Los Angeles.     It’s an Honour    Last Saturday was an exciting day for me. I was installed as the 19th President of my very hardworking and active Club, Lions Club of Mombasa Bahari. Since the Club was chartered, I have been a part of it. First as a spouse and then as a Lion.     Bellissimo       I swear I missed these delicious soft sweet brioche like buns when I went to Rome. I didn’t see them or perhaps my tunnel of vision at that time was just on gelato, all different flavours. But then we were too busy taking in all the sights and hardly had any time to laze around cafes and coffee shops. Gelato, prosecco, pizzas and pasta were the main things I looked out for.     very berry yummy       Today was not such a great day for me. From the time I woke up I was on the go and trying to juggle so many chores all together. In all this what did I sacrifice?     30th Anniversary Ajay and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary yesterday. 30 years….. the number seems big but the years short. In spite of all our differences, we have worked to reach this far and are hoping for many more years of togetherness.     happy birthday Meera      My niece, Meera loves baking. Whenever I go her place, we try and bake something together and in the process get to bond as well. She works with a lot of patience and joy. During school holidays she is busy baking goodies for her numerous cousins and large families. I am sure she gets loads of praises from them. Some years back Meera and I baked some eclairs for my dad, her grandfather and we were not too proud of the end result. The eclairs became a bit hard, but got consumed anyway within a few hours.
