Butternut squash also known as butternut pumpkin in Australia and New Zealand is a winter vegetable. However, some areas are fortunate to get it mostly throughout the year. Its similar to pumpkin, orange fleshy pulp with a yellow orangish skin. It is sweet and nutty. In reality its classified as a fruit but is usually prepared like a vegetable.     Bake Fest # 42 :Event Announcement   Started by Vardhini of Cook’s Joy, this series has been running successfully and now is in the 42nd edition. I’m hosting bake fest for the first time and I am hoping that we will have many great baked recipes as we are in the Easter month.     The event runs from 1st April to 3oth April 2015.
